preparation: 10 Steps
Step 1 Choose a Program: email our alumni, research other programs, read through the website
Step 2 Join the GP Network: find us on Facebook (GP Founders) and send us your contact info
Step 3 Meet with your Coach: discuss the opportunity GP offers and seek advice/encouragement
Step 4 Visit Study Abroad Office: obtain necessary paperwork for credit transfer and learn about your university’s process
Step 5 Meet with your Academic Advisor: email them link to our academic page on the website and then follow up with a meeting to see how the courses can compliment your curriculum (Click here to download course syllabi)
Step 6 Meet with Scholarship Coordinator or Financial Aid: discuss athletic scholarship or financial aid issues relative to studying abroad in the summer. Ask them to help you with funding your trip.
Step 7 Clue in your Parents: It is always important to include your family in the decision-making process. We suggest getting your facts in line prior to engaging them so you can better answer any questions they have. Encourage parents to contact us with any questions not covered on the website

Step 8 APPLY: admission to the GP programs are on a rolling basis so it is important to apply as soon as possible to secure a spot. The following materials in addition to a $75 application fee need to be secured prior to acceptance:
- $75 Application Fee
- Two References (academic and athletic)
- Resume (interns only)
- Phone Interview
- Signed Terms and Conditions
Step 9 Recommend a Friend: If you recommend a friend (or two) and each of you are accepted into the program, we will give you a group discount on the program cost. Contact us for details.
Step 10 Get Creative: Put yourself on a budget throughout the year to save for your summer abroad. There are also many fundraising options so get Google on your side and do your due diligence to earn some money towards your trip. You can do anything from a bake sale to running your own camp or clinic. The possibilities are endless so get creative and make it happen! See funding resources.
