terms and conditions
The
following terms and conditions are designed to protect all parties
including students, coaches, team leaders, administrators of Global Players Student Athlete Exchange and
the agencies and individuals cooperating with them. Applicants will be
required to sign a formal version of the terms and conditions when
applying. The information here is a summary of our policies.
Acceptance
Space is limited to 30 students for the 2011 Summer Program in Prague. Selection is competitive , especially for the select internship programs available, therefore make certain you apply as soon as possible as it is rolling admissions. Applicants will be notified almost immediately of their acceptance. A $500 non-refundable deposit, applied to the program costs, is due within 10 days of acceptance notification to secure your spot. The full payment is due on March 30, 2011 or 10 days after the application is accepted (if applying after this date).
Personal Conduct
As a Global Players participant, you will be held to a very high standard on and off the field, hence a phone interview and series of recommendations will be considered during the application process. Bear in mind before applying, that the program is designed to be FUN, challenging, and to maximize cultural immersion!! We are not there to dominate the playing field, but rather to level the playing field by inviting international players to join our team. We are not there to be exclusive, but inclusive. Our mission at Global Players is to give you the opportunity of a lifetime. Participants must conduct themselves in a safe and prudent manner while participating in any activity or travel conducted by or under the auspices of Student Athlete Exchange, LLC.
Insurance Coverage
Students will be required to show evidence of an adequate health care policy which includes coverage abroad prior
to departure. Students failing to obtain this policy will not be
allowed to participate in the program or live in the housing until they
have secured this insurance. Parents and participants will be required
to sign a waiver of liability in the event of great bodily harm or
death due to unforeseen circumstances. Participants are solely
responsible for ensuring that
If you are a member of US Lacrosse, the international tournaments and weekly training sessions (structured, supervised lacrosse events) are covered by the membership insurance, but this policy does not cover your entire stay overseas.
Cultural Insurance Services International (CISI) at http://www.culturalinsurance.com
offers a policy (for approximately $60) which covers all treatment with
reimbursement for medical expenses including medication, fully
automated claim payment system, air evacuation in the event of serious
injury, and US$10,000 life insurance payment to a selected beneficiary
in the event of death. STA Travel also has a comprehensive policy which provides both medical and travel coverage. Insurance is a necessary precaution, please
exercise due diligence to make sure you are covered.
Refund Policy and Schedule
To initiate a refund, a student must contact the Global Players staff immediately in writing of their intention to withdraw from the program. Please note the deposit of $575 (including app. fee) is non-refundable once the student is accepted.
The program cost* is 75% refundable until 60 days before the start of the program. Students will receive 50% refund of the program cost until 45 days before the program. If less then 45 days no refunds are available because all costs have been allocated and paid.
*"Program Cost" excludes the non-refundable $575 deposit
Global Players reserves the right to change program dates or cancel sessions due to unforeseen circumstances. Participants should not purchase their airline tickets until 45 days out from the starting date of the program. In the event a program date will be changed or canceled, Global Players will notify all candidates immediately. Global Players will not be liable for unused tickets from a canceled program.
